Distance Covered:

Trust us to pick the hottest day of the year for this, with the mercury all the way up to 28.5C, and some long, steep uphill sections.

Six of us - Steve & Viv, Ian & Neroli & myself, led by "local" Adrian got into "a bit of a sweat".

I've no idea where we got to other than we headed towards Avebury from Barbury Castle, then did a number of zig-zags back onto, & off again, the Ridgeway.

Many of the trails were so deeply rutted, you couldn't get the pedals through there, causing me at least one spectacular dismount!

I've never broken a chain before, but this was where it happened! I do always carry a chain link breaker, but it wasn't man enough to punch the pin out of my chain. Fortunately, Steve had his, too, and with Ian's strength & technique, managed to save the day!

Many thanks to Adrian for the lead.
